Dean's Welcome Note

This is the website of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). In compliance with the UMP vision, mission and strategic plan, we are on the pledge of offering a world-class education with the aim to produce mechanical engineering graduates which are well prepared to serve the community and allowing them to meet the demand of highly qualified engineers in the workforce.

Located in the tranquil town of Pekan, Pahang and surrounded by highly competitive industrial players within close proximity to our campus, we offer well integrated programs such as Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Automotive Engineering. Our degree programs are fully accredited by Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) which has awarded us as a recognized program in Malaysia as well as many parts of the world. Apart from that, our faculty has also established its own quality assurance system based on ISO 9001 to ensure a good teaching and learning, research and service quality. Our students are properly trained to solve complex engineering problems and obtain sufficient practical skills which allow them to incorporate this knowledge in the industry as distinctive graduates.

In addition to the degree programs, we also have active scholars which are registered as postgraduate students in our Master (MS) and Doctoral (PhD) programs. The engineers would have more well-rounded experience with the added value by joining our postgraduate programs. These programs have contributed to the improvement in many aspects of the industry and society by continuously being engaged in research and publications within as well as outside the faculty.
Our potential students are encouraged to work in the field of their choice which is based on their interest. The students would be motivated to work under close supervision of our faculty members which consists of several focus groups of many different fields of expertise such as:
·Advanced Structural Integrity and Vibration Research (ASIVR)
·Human Engineering Group (HEG)
·Manufacturing Process Focus Group (MPFG)
·Energy Sustainable Focus Group (ESFG)
·Structural Materials and Degradation (SMDFG)
· Automotive Engineering Research Group (AERG)

Finally, I wish that this journey of surfing our website would provide useful insight information which would help you to know us and our virtue better and please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and explanation. We are always ready to assist you.
